Star Wars Battlefront 2 is getting an open beta later this week. EA and DICE have released a new trailer to get you prepared to jump back into the war.
Battlefront 2 releases in 46 days, and the tension is rising. With the recent trailer that laid the smack down on the criticism of the first game, and the announcement of a beta along with it. DICE is letting you know why you’ll want this game.
Now, like most “Beta’s” before this one, it’s really more of a demo considering it’s available so close to the games official launch. It goes live on Friday the 6th of October for everyone, or on Wednesday the 4th if you reserve your copy early and runs until Monday the 9th.
It shows off some very impressive gameplay that promises space battles, co-op gameplay, and different heroes across all eras of the Star Wars timeline. If you’re still on the fence after the first game, here’s your chance to see how the second improves on the first.
Perhaps one of the best reasons to support this game is all major DLC will be free for the game. That means all maps, weapons, vehicles, heroes and modes won’t cost you a dime. It’s a strategy within the industry that’s getting more popular, and one we need to let all developers and publishers know that we need. It keeps the community together, and keeps people playing the games they like longer.
With that though means the game will support microtransactions in the form of loot crates. DICE and EA assure us that nothing is locked behind them, thus they are completely options. We just hope that doesn’t mean drop rates or the ability to earn everything in-game will be hampered in favor of pushing this extra source of income, but that remains to be seen.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 releases for PS4, Xbox One, and PC November 17th.
