A Remastered Spyro Trilogy Could Be Coming This Year!

Spyro the Dragon Trilogy could be coming this year, if it does, will it release on the series’  20th anniversary?

In the last few years, we have seen many remastered games come and go. From Crash Bandicoot to Shadow of the Colossus, some got a lot of attention, and others simply flew under the radar without much fanfare. The latest game announced to get the remasted facelift is the classic Spyro trilogy. It’s blowing up all over the web right now and numerous outlets are talking about it. Activision is expected to make a formal announcement in March, with a potential release date of Q3 2018.

What Can We Expect To See In The Remastered Version?

For starters, graphics and cinematics will be given a full overhaul and brought up to current industry standards and expectations. And let’s not forget that the soundtrack will likely also be remastered.  Sources say that the game will include; Spyro the Dragon, Ripto’s Rage, and Year of the Dragon. Personally, I must say that the promise of playing Year of the Dragon with updated graphics and sound is exciting.

It must be mentioned, that we saw the success of Crash Bandicoot and immediately rumors started to circulate about a Spyro remastered. So, it’s highly likely Spyro will be just as successful, but only time will tell. Spyro Remastered will be releasing for PS4, with PS4 Pro support. Look for the official announcement for more information in March.

Remember Coin-Droppers, Spyro was first released back in September of 1998. Could the game be aiming for release on the 20th anniversary of the series? Who knows, but it would be great if it does. All we can do for now is wait for March and hope that we get some good news about the game.

Howdy everyone, in Mexico we have a phrase, "Old wood burns better". Old games tend to be good, but that should not stop people from looking at the future. I play games from the fighting genre to JRPGs and the never ending adventures of open world games. I am here to offer a point of view on the nostalgic past and the present games full of wonders.
