If you enjoyed the first, Red Dead Redemption 2 is about to treat fans and newcomers alike because they’re turning the dial to 11 and pulling out all the stops.
This new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 focuses on the games new protagonist, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang. Notably, this is the gang that the previous protagonist John Marston would join in his youth, and subsequently leave for a simpler life.
It’s pretty clear from the trailer it’s set before the events of the last game, as Dutch, the leader of Van der Linde appears to be younger than he was in the first RDR. Whether or not that means we will see John in the game or not remains to be seen, but we have new characters to focus on anyways.
The trailer gives us plenty to details on what players will be able to do in the game, such as hunting, breaking horses, bank and train robberies and, yes, lots and lots of story lead violence. The first gave us far more to do in the heart of America than just a story, and this one looks to be no slouch either. If GTAV and it’s online component are anything to go by, Rockstar hasn’t been resting on their laurels with this one. Which is clear by looking at the visuals alone.
You can bet this will be the best looking game they have made to date, and the most packed. Card games, hunting, side quests with meaning, the aforementioned horse breaking, bank robberies and much much more. Not to mention the game will have an online mode, presumably based on the model they have for GTAV. It will, of course, have a western twist in order to fit the game, but GTAV has likely been a testing board for things they will do with RDR2.
There is still a lot about the game Rockstar has yet to confirm about the game, such as its location. Rumors last year have pegged it just East if the first game slightly overlapping at the edges. In the end, Rockstar still has several months left before releasing the game, but with those months dwindling away, you can expect them to start releasing information. And we will be there every step of the way.
You can look forward to playing Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4 and Xbox One next spring. Be sure to check back with us as more details are released, such as that unknown release date. Click here for more images previously released that show off just how gorgeous the game is.
