Celebrate what it means to be a part of the Pokemon GO community, and make new friends along the way!
Pokemon Go has always been proud to say that they are helping the community unite, and helping people become more fit with their craze-inducing game. Despite the “smart” individuals who drive and play, and those who walk into traffic to get that rare Pokemon, Niantic has stuck behind their game.
What’s In Store for You
For all the social people out there, the last two Community Day events have been a fun time to get together and pose for Twitter pictures. And now, you can do it again. It has been announced that the next Community Day event will take place on March 25, 2018, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm PST, where you can venture forth and catch ’em all alongside the lovely people of your community (or not so lovely people. I don’t know your community).
If you’re antisocial, you can continue to hide your phone, pretending you just received a text and are not actually catching a Dragonite- and yes, everyone knows now that you squealed in delight.
Of course, Niantic couldn’t get all of these people to go out just for an ordinary day of Pokemon Go, so the official Pokemon Go website gave us this handy infographic conveying all the exciting things you can expect from your day out in the real world.
For just a few hours … you can encounter a special Pokémon in the wild. During these hours, there’s a chance to learn a previously unavailable move for that Pokémon or its evolution, as well as earn some Community Day bonuses.
This March you’ll be graced with a special version of Bulbasaur, and really, who wouldn’t want to catch a Bulbasaur? Players can also expect 3x catch bonus XP and 3 hour lures for the duration of the event. Thanks, Niantic!
What a chance to go out and make new friends, learn more about your community, and blah blah blah. Who are you kidding? You know you’re only out there for the chance to catch a rare pokemon and shove it in your friends’ faces to prove that you’re better than them. Oh, and someone may bring some food if you’re in one of those “nice” communities. Now if only you could remember the way home…..
