First Mod For Half Life 2: Episode 3 Based On Original Script Released

A mod for Half Life 2: Episode 3 based on the script from Marc Laidlaw, the former writer of Half Life has already released, brought to us by Blendo Games.

Half-Life fans! I summon thee!

You might remember Marc Laidlaw, former head writer for Valve on Half Life. Well, he recently posted what is suspected to be a plot summary for Half-Life 2: Episode 3 and fans across the industry have gone nuts. This was on the 25 of August on his personal site, and you can find the synopsis here.

Well, as with most mod communities, they are generous and FAST with their work. Mod team Blendo Games have recently released a mod for Half-Life 2 called Tiger Team and was created by Blendo Games. This is the first mod available based on Marc Laidlaw’s version of what Half-Life 2: Episode 3 would have looked like. This mod is part of the Epistle 3 game jam inspired by Laidlaw’s script. The mod is definitely unfinished, but for the hefty price of free, it’s worth giving it a try.

For those who are interested, you can download it here.

And to make it easier on you, here are the installation instructions.

  1. Unzip the file into this folder: steam\steamapps\sourcemods
  2. Restart Steam.
  3. Tiger Team will appear in your Steam library. Run Tiger Team.
  4. A window will appear asking to install Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer (size: about 8 GB). Install it.
  5. After the Source SDK download is done, run Tiger Team

It’s a quick download, so you really don’t have any reason not to try it out. And sure, they still have some details and bugs to work out, I believe it’s worth giving it a try. It even looks like they might be giving us more to look forward to down the line.

Check out a trailer of the mod below and let us know what you think.

Howdy everyone, in Mexico we have a phrase, "Old wood burns better". Old games tend to be good, but that should not stop people from looking at the future. I play games from the fighting genre to JRPGs and the never ending adventures of open world games. I am here to offer a point of view on the nostalgic past and the present games full of wonders.
