Players Will Be Able to Visit the Summerset Isles in the Next Elder Scrolls Online Expansion

The next Elder Scrolls Online adventure will take place on the Summerset Isles.

Elder Scrolls Online has announced the newest entry in the series: Summerset. It’s time to go back to the Altmeri homeland and explore the once closed borders of Summerset. The home of the High Elves is open to foreigners thanks to a decree issued by the young queen, Ayrenn, who feels change is necessary for her people.

New Locations

New locations are coming to the world of The Elder Scrolls Online. They include Alinor, the capital of Summerset, and Cloudrest, the home of the Welkynar Gryphon Knights. You heard that right. Gryphon Knights. High Elves got some neat mounts. Also available are the city of Shimmerene, known as the City of Lights, and the Crystal Tower, a place of research, mysterious purpose, and a mausoleum for the honored dead.

But what if you are looking for magic on Summerset? Lillandril might be the place for you, as it houses the College of the Sapiarchs and the local chapter of the Mages Guild. And, if you are simply looking for sights and entertainment, the township of Relenthill might be just the spot.

New Abilities: Enter the Psijic Order!

350 years ago, the Isle of Artaeum vanished from Tamriel. For the first time in The Elder Scrolls series, we are given the chance to travel to the isle! We will finally be able to unravel the secrets of both the Psijic Order and the Mages Guild.

Do you know what that means? New magic skills!

Time Stop, Meditate, and Undo are the Psijic Order skills that have been revealed so far.

Time Stop allows for the freezing of time in a specific location–enemies trapped there will slow until they freeze in place.

Meditate allows for the recovery of Health, Stamina, and Magicka over time; it seems you can use the pause after a tough fight to reflect and recover.

Undo is the mark of a true master of time; it literally allows you to undo the last four seconds. Did you get an almost fatal injury three seconds ago? It’s not there anymore! Now you are back to how you were four seconds ago, meaning your Health, Stamina, and Magicka are all where they were before the injury. If a fight is not going your way, then undo it and start again.

New Features Bring New Challenges!

Remember the days you wished for more crafting? Those moments in which you hit the ceiling as a master crafter? Why not craft jewelry?

That’s right. On Summerset, we will be able to learn how to forge jewelry. Handmade rings and necklaces will allow us a bit of that extra power we might need for the new challenges that have opened up.

You see, there is a new 12 player Trial in Summerset. You will be facing the Welkynar and, if you remember, they are the Gryphon Knights, so get ready for a fight that will keep your attention close to the sky.

Closer Than You Might Believe.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset is available for early access on the PC/MAC starting the 21st of May. Those who play the adventure on Xbox One or PS4 will see the lands of the High Elves on June 5th when the expansion officially releases.
