Dragon Quest XI Officially Announced For The West!

Dragon Quest XI, the latest entry in the series has been officially confirmed for a western release sometime next year. Fans rejoice!

This long running series, drawn by renowned artist Akira Toriyama, and developed by Square-Enix has captivated players around the world for decades. With it’s unique art and alluring music, fans have something to be excited about with today’s announcement. DRAGON QUEST XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age will be coming to the West next year.

The highly anticipated entry which has just released in Japan and is likely selling like hot cakes and garnering rave reviews. DRAGON QUEST XI follows the adventure of a hero who is the reincarnation of a past hero and must prove himself in a coming of age ceremony. DRAGON QUEST XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age will offer a world of adventure, exploration, and instances of heroism. The game is widely regarded as one of Japans favorite games, although has had a rough time in the states in the past. It’s nice to see Square-Enix being willing to localize the game for Western audiences.

They promised it is being developed in 5 languages, English included and is a massive undertaking. They have asked us to be patient and to look forward to the official launch. They have also promised more information on the Western version later this year.No platforms were mentioned, however, we know that in Japan, the game launched on PS4 and 3DS, and that a Nintendo Switch version is in development. So it’s likely the same systems will get support over here as well.
