Ni No Kuni II – Bandai Namco announces special editions and more for Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, as well as a season pass.
Ni No Kuni is one of the most highly acclaimed JRPG’s on the PS3 that almost no one has ever heard of. However, it was popular and revered enough to get a sequel! Bandai Namco has announced special editions and more for Ni No Kuni II. Although the release date is almost half a year away, the title is getting gamers excited.
The game will feature a day one edition, along with premium and collector’s editions. So just pre-ordering Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom will also open up a DLC sword set. Spending a little more on the Premium Edition will net another DLC sword set, a Steelbook case, music CD, and papercraft collectible. Or, if you go all out for the Collector’s Edition, featuring all of the above stuff as well a plush toy, a Blu-ray, the season pass, and more.
Speaking of the season pass, the first game had plenty of post release support, but there was no season pass. This time however, Bandai Namco are getting into the expansion game. Not much has yet been revealed so far about this additional content, other than it’s planned and will consist of 2 “Large” DLC’s and a supply kit. Also, its price point on its own is $19.99. (Unknown yet if this price is exclusive to pre-orders, or has a time limit.)
I know that when the original was released, I had no idea it was such a strong presence in the JRPG genre. And I, along with many others, have come to appreciate its timeless mechanics and story. Everything we have seen so far promises more of the gameplay that made the original an instant classic. We will have to wait until January, when it releases for PS4 and PC to see how Level 5 could improve on a masterpiece.
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom suffered a recent delay, but luckily it wasn’t too long, and will now release for PS4 and PC January 19th, 2018. For more detailed info, and to pre-order, check out the official site.
